Organic 2 mid term
My mid term for my organic 2 class. Zbrush is not a good texturing tool, but it can sculpt something fierce.

A bit of both worlds
So I decided to open an old file. Decided to just paint over it rather than render and texture in Maya. I actually like it better this way than trying to second guess the settings over and over, then wait to find that it looks wrong. I kinda like how its looking so far, but I think I might add more to it.
Below shows the current steps to get there.
And one more update, adding some more highlights and adjusted lighting.

Not 3d, but still something cool.
Something I worked on with a friend to get a feel for film making. Though we didn't realize the lighting would be worse, he managed to salvage a good portion of the film, so I did a quick vfx test for the end sequence to see what it could look like.

Sci Fi ship update
So I managed to get some more things working on the funky ufo, with the
main thing being the leg extending from the bowls of the ship.
still much to work out though.
[Edit]
New controls set up.

Sci-Fi project
So I've been doing some other projects, and felt I should put up some progress pics on it. Its nothing amazing right now, since things are still being worked out, but this is where it stands now.
Ball socket joint that connects the rings to the body.
Extending blades from within the panels.
Quick view of how the lower section will open up.
The general mechanical system for the panels.
The way the arms will extend out. Think of a flexible hose.
How the ship will basically look once its fully opened up.
How the leg will sit when its extended.

Another piece I got to work on
I briefly did a bit of clean up on the character rig for this short. Mostly weights and joint location adjustments, with a few controls added to help the animator. Friend of mine informed me of the project's completion today, so its kinda nice to see the final project complete.
